Welcome to Darley Dene Primary School where we all belong

Mrs. Z Devonport
Headteacher

At Darley Dene, we are proud to be a one-form entry primary school, which allows us to truly know every child and family. This personal approach helps us build strong relationships and tailor learning to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and challenged.

From our very youngest children in our nursery—including our two-year-old provision—right through to Year 6, we offer a uniquely personalised experience to give your child the best possible start in life. In addition to our Primary and Nursery provision, we also have a Specialist Centre for Learning and Additional Needs (LAN) for children aged 4–7 years.

Every aspect of our school’s provision is centred around the children, and their needs are the driving force behind all decision-making. We believe that every child should be treated with unconditional positive regard; this is a school where we all belong. Your child’s unique worth and individual life experience will be championed by school staff in partnership with you at home. From the strength of that partnership, they will thrive.

Our dedicated staff team works hard to deliver an ambitious curriculum, where all children have access to opportunities to learn to read, write, and work with numbers—while also discovering their individual interests and passions. Children achieve strong academic outcomes here, but just as important is the character we help them build. We believe deeply in developing resilience -helping children to persevere through challenges, learn from mistakes, and grow in confidence. Our children are encouraged to be independent, reflective learners who are not afraid to try new things and take pride in their progress. Our aim is for your child to leave us ready to contribute positively to society, both emotionally and intellectually.

Darley Dene is located in the heart of Addlestone, and we value the strong links we have with our local community, which enrich your child’s school life and make each day one to remember. Our beautiful school benefits from large, spacious classrooms, a range of additional spaces for small group and individual work, and attractive outdoor areas which includes a trim trail and forest school area.

We are excited to work closely with you as we continue to build on the school’s success and support every child to become a lifelong learner.

Our beautiful school benefits from large, spacious classrooms with a range of additional spaces for small group and individual work, along with attractive outside space which includes a trim trail and forest school area.  In 2019/2020, the school underwent significant building refurbishment which has greatly enhanced the learning environment both inside and outside of the school buildings.

Our website is a window into our world at Darley Dene, but it does not match first-hand experience so do come and see us.  Details of Open Mornings can be found on our Open Days page or by ringing our office on 01932 847674.  We look forward to meeting you very soon.

Darley Dene Primary School is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. To achieve our commitment, we will ensure continuous improvement and development of robust Safeguarding processes and procedures that promote a culture of Safeguarding amongst our staff and volunteers.
