What a lovely and busy week we have had! This week, we have been exploring the story Zeki Goes to the Park, which the children have really enjoyed. We have loved getting stuck into lots of autumn-themed activities and exploring through hands-on arts and crafts. The children have also been developing their early writing skills by creating their own sentences about the story and sharing their ideas. We have been thinking about what makes each of us unique and celebrating our special qualities by creating our very own self-portraits. It has been another wonderful week of learning, exploring, creating and having fun together – and we have packed so much into our four days! We are so proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they continue to show each day. |

Lots of exciting learning and adventures have been happening in LAN! We have continued our journey with The Colour Monster, exploring how different emotions can be linked to different colours and talking about ways we can express our feelings and use strategies to help us feel calm and happy. We have embraced the arrival of autumn by creating some lovely autumn crafts, including our own colourful wreaths, as well as heading outdoors to spot the changes in the season. We have also been very excited to start our Tesco trips again, where the children helped to choose and collect the ingredients we needed to make shortbread. Back in class, we had lots of fun cutting out different shapes before enjoying our delicious homemade treats! The warmer weather has also given us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including having lots of fun on our new trampoline while practising our turn-taking and sharing skills. |

This week, we have been exploring the wonderful book The Colour Monster! We have had a fantastic time creating our own Colour Monster artwork, writing our own sentences and learning all about the different emotions and how they can make us feel. We have enjoyed talking about and recognising a range of feelings and expressing ourselves through lots of fun activities. We also put our cooking skills to the test and made delicious savoury flapjacks with cheese — they were absolutely delicious! It has been a fantastic week of learning, creativity and fun! |

This week in LAN, we have been learning all about ourselves and what makes each of us special and unique. We explored our story Kindness Makes Us Strong, which was a lovely way to begin our first full week together. Through the story, we talked about sharing, caring and friendship, and how our kind actions can make a big difference to others. As part of our “All About Me” learning, we have been talking about ourselves, our likes and dislikes, and the things that make us who we are. We have also been busy creating our own self-portraits, looking carefully at our features and choosing colours to represent ourselves. The children have enjoyed lots of hands-on learning throughout the week, developing their creativity and fine motor skills through playdough, chalk colouring, cutting and sticking activities. It has been a wonderful week of learning, creating, building friendships and celebrating what makes us all unique! |

What a wonderful start to the new school year! This week, we were so excited to welcome all of our children back to LAN after the summer holidays. It has been lovely to see familiar faces again and to welcome new friends into our class. We have had a fantastic two days settling back into our school routines, spending time together and sharing what we did over the holidays. There has been lots of excitement, smiles and happy chatter as we begin our new school year together. We are so proud of how wonderfully the children have settled in, and we can’t wait for our first full week together next week. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! |
