How are we feeling this week? The Colour Monster has helped us think about big emotions and how we can sort them out. The children have been using colours to help them identify these as the basis for discussion. In maths we have been looking for yellow in the environment and continued to explore collage with a range of materials. The children recognise this as a joyful colour and are able to share some things that make them feel happy. In music we have been listening to sounds to help us relax and feel calm. |

This week we have explored what it means to be kind with our story “Kindness Makes Us Strong”. The children have thought about who loves and helps them, both at home and at nursery. They shared their ideas about what makes them happy and touched upon some other big feelings they experience in our Jigsaw session. Red is the colour of the week for our maths focus and there was great participation from everyone! See what red things you can spot when you’re out and about at the weekend. |

It’s been a wonderful first week of term. The children are settling into the routines brilliantly and are enjoying exploring the continuous provision, learning where all their favourite toys and resources are kept. This links to our half term theme ‘All About Me’ with children sharing their thoughts about what they like best. To promote a love of reading, our story this week ‘Zeki Goes to the Park’ has inspired our drawing as we talked about what we did this summer when it was “hot, hot, hot”! I think we all agree the "cool breeze feels fresh". We look forward to finding out more about the changing weather.\ |
