We have had a lovely week in LAN and it has been wonderful to have everyone back together! This week, we have been enjoying the story Monster Clothes, laughing at all the funny outfits the monsters wear and talking about our favourite ones. The children had lots of fun making their own monster face bagel pizzas and celebrating Bonfire Night with some lovely arts and crafts and fun maze activities. We have also enjoyed getting outside for some outdoor learning and play, making the most of the fresh air despite the colder weather! The children have brought lots of energy and enthusiasm to the week, and we are so excited for all the fun, learning and adventures that Autumn 2 will bring! |

What a spooktacular week we have had in LAN! The children have loved our Halloween celebrations, getting creative with Halloween portraits, fruit printing, spooky scenes, ghosts and decorations. We have also been practising our talking skills by using Colourful Semantics to build simple sentences about Halloween and learn new words. On Thursday, we joined in with Crazy Hair Day and loved seeing all the fantastic hairstyles in Reception and LAN! We have had a lovely final week together before the half term break and hope everyone enjoys a happy and restful two weeks. We look forward to seeing you all after the holidays, ready for Autumn 2! |

What a wonderful week we have had! We have been celebrating Harvest Festival through lots of exciting, hands-on learning. On Monday, we enjoyed our trip to Tesco to buy some lovely harvest fruits and vegetables, which we then used to bake our very own hedgehog bread! We have also been busy creating beautiful Harvest artwork, including scarecrow faces and designing our own allotments, sharing lots of creative ideas along the way. We also had our photos, and the children did an amazing job! Today, we have enjoyed celebrating Hello Yellow Day and continuing our Black History Month learning by creating handprints to show that although we are all unique and wonderfully different, we are also the same inside. It has been a week full of creativity, curiosity and celebration, and we have loved seeing the children’s little personalities shine through in everything they have done. We are so proud of them all! |

What a lovely and busy week we have had! This week, we have been exploring the story Zeki Goes to the Park, which the children have really enjoyed. We have loved getting stuck into lots of autumn-themed activities and exploring through hands-on arts and crafts. The children have also been developing their early writing skills by creating their own sentences about the story and sharing their ideas. We have been thinking about what makes each of us unique and celebrating our special qualities by creating our very own self-portraits. It has been another wonderful week of learning, exploring, creating and having fun together – and we have packed so much into our four days! We are so proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they continue to show each day. |

Lots of exciting learning and adventures have been happening in LAN! We have continued our journey with The Colour Monster, exploring how different emotions can be linked to different colours and talking about ways we can express our feelings and use strategies to help us feel calm and happy. We have embraced the arrival of autumn by creating some lovely autumn crafts, including our own colourful wreaths, as well as heading outdoors to spot the changes in the season. We have also been very excited to start our Tesco trips again, where the children helped to choose and collect the ingredients we needed to make shortbread. Back in class, we had lots of fun cutting out different shapes before enjoying our delicious homemade treats! The warmer weather has also given us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including having lots of fun on our new trampoline while practising our turn-taking and sharing skills. |

This week, we have been exploring the wonderful book The Colour Monster! We have had a fantastic time creating our own Colour Monster artwork, writing our own sentences and learning all about the different emotions and how they can make us feel. We have enjoyed talking about and recognising a range of feelings and expressing ourselves through lots of fun activities. We also put our cooking skills to the test and made delicious savoury flapjacks with cheese — they were absolutely delicious! It has been a fantastic week of learning, creativity and fun! |

This week in LAN, we have been learning all about ourselves and what makes each of us special and unique. We explored our story Kindness Makes Us Strong, which was a lovely way to begin our first full week together. Through the story, we talked about sharing, caring and friendship, and how our kind actions can make a big difference to others. As part of our “All About Me” learning, we have been talking about ourselves, our likes and dislikes, and the things that make us who we are. We have also been busy creating our own self-portraits, looking carefully at our features and choosing colours to represent ourselves. The children have enjoyed lots of hands-on learning throughout the week, developing their creativity and fine motor skills through playdough, chalk colouring, cutting and sticking activities. It has been a wonderful week of learning, creating, building friendships and celebrating what makes us all unique! |

What a wonderful start to the new school year! This week, we were so excited to welcome all of our children back to LAN after the summer holidays. It has been lovely to see familiar faces again and to welcome new friends into our class. We have had a fantastic two days settling back into our school routines, spending time together and sharing what we did over the holidays. There has been lots of excitement, smiles and happy chatter as we begin our new school year together. We are so proud of how wonderfully the children have settled in, and we can’t wait for our first full week together next week. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! |
